We at Real Property Photography truly appreciate those we work with. This new series, ‘In the Spotlight’, will highlight some of our most valued clients, and focus on their success and achievements in their chosen careers.
Glenn and Lina are the third to feature in this space. We asked them some questions about City Residential and about how they became so successful,
What was your motivation for pursuing a career in real estate?
When we were younger, we both enjoyed buying and selling our own properties. We realised how much we enjoyed being involved in the process and the industry.
As real estate agents, we enjoy helping people make informed decisions when searching for their home or an investment that best suits their affordability and lifestyle needs. This was the biggest motivation for us – to be able to help people with a very big decision in their lives, and to see their satisfaction from the outcome.
What has been your biggest challenge to date?
Finding the best work/life balance has been the biggest challenge to date. However, when you get this right everything else falls into place. Unlike a regular job, being a real estate agent lets you decide the hours and days you wish to work. With thorough business planning in a real estate career, you can work five days a week and also have the option to work more hours and days if you so desire.
How do you stay organised and on track?
If you enjoy interacting with people, then real estate Sales or Property Management may be the career path that you want to pursue. A true real estate professional understands the foundations for success that is built upon strong organisation skills, planning, and, of course, strong customer relationships. This alone keeps us on track.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
It is rewarding to be an integral part of a person’s needs when someone is selling, buying or investing in real estate. This is what we will still be doing in 5 years time. In fact, we cannot see ourselves not having any involvement in this process.
How would you define success?
When you have happy clients and customers and, of course, when this is spread by word of mouth – for example when someone refers us. We take that as being successful in our careers and ultimately achieving our goals of building our business .
What are the top three skills needed to be successful in property management/real estate?
The top three skills we believe we have at our office – which helps us stand out – are excellent listening skills, communication skills and a friendly personality. Meeting a client, helping a client and then being rewarded with a lifelong friend or acquaintance after the real estate transaction is achieved is one of the many rewards we enjoy by being real estate agents.
If you could give yourself any advice before you started this career, what would it be?
The only person that can hold you back from success in your real estate career is yourself, you need to continue to work hard and satisfy every Landlord or Vendor that you have dealings with.
